February 2013-
It is amazing how fast time pass. Today, is the last day of February and the memories from last year still fresh. I would like to share some of the events happened at Bammel, among the Spanish ministry.
Marriage Class-
As part of the program "Matrimonios Fortalecidos" (Strong Marriages), we are teaching a class every Sunday. Paulina and I share "the pulpit" and has been an amazing journey.
This month, the writers of the text book for this class, came to teach a seminar. "Married with Differences" was the title of the conferences. We were taught about how to work out and improve our communication skills with our spouses. It went from basics to deeper topics in marriage.
Chris and Carmen Garner serves as a team in ministry. They travel around the world sharing their story and testimony. After an almost broken marriage, they let God work with them and fulfill His purpose in them. Now, they help other couples trough their book and seminars.
Also, Antonio and Angeles Estevez, our marriage ministry coordinators, prepared an uplifting couples night, with games and an interview to the Garners at the Garcia's Home. Definitively was a marriage weekend with a huge Presence of the Holy Spirit.
Sheriff Adrian Garcia at Bammel-
Jim Brooks told me that Adrian Garcia was coming to Bammel, but did not mention that he was going to be in my class!- I had the opportunity to pray over him and the congregation blessed and encourage him. It was interesting to have an uniformed and armed man in my class, I choose very carefully my remarks that night :)
Lose or win-
Sometimes, when we complain is because we do not know the whole story. At Bammel, in our Spanish ministry, for the last few weeks had received many guests at our worship service. This is very interesting, because several months ago, I was not very optimistic. This sudden attendance come after a small number of members decided not to attend Bammel anymore. Of course, that is awful, but God keeps His promises and send more people all the time. New people, as I call them; people free of legalisms and misleading ideas, that only want to hear the Gospel. I love that!!
